Mission and Policy
Engineering technology, which has been pursuing “mass production, mass consumption,” “speed,” and “efficiency,” has now reached a turning point. This “corner” is gradually but clearly appearing in the form of global warming and the depletion of fossil fuels and rare metals used in electronic devices. Has this “turning point” come suddenly? No, it does not seem so. In Europe, it has already had its roots in the medieval period when forests were cleared and cities were formed, and it is possible to say that it has appeared as it was meant to appear.
